Morrison Healthcare Kicks Off “Stop Food Waste Day”

As part of its inaugural “Stop Food Waste Day,” Atlanta-based Morrison Healthcare today announced a commitment to increase the number of food recovery and donation programs to serve the hungry in its communities. Morrison Healthcare is one of the nation’s largest food service providers, serving approximately one million meals daily in more than 650 hospitals.

In a major overhaul of its foodservice program, Sentara, a 550-bed teaching hospital and trauma center in Virginia collaborated with its healthcare foodservice operator Morrison Healthcare to redesign the 14,000-square-foot cafeteria.
